The Wellness Revolution
According to
research, Genomics is currently a $12-15 billion dollar industry and is
projected to be a $25 billion dollar industry by the end of 2010!
Neutri-Genomics, the science of nutrition and genetics, is fast
becoming the new norm in dietary supplementation and will take over the
lead role in the wellness industry as more people grasp the
significance of personalized nutrition in their lifestyle.
Approximately 1/7 of the US economy today, which is about $1.4 trillion
is devoted to the health care business. By the year 2012 that number is
expected to explode close to $4 trillion. What does all this means to
you?
There is much fear in the wellness industry in recent years. As
baby-boomers start reaching retirement years they are faced with a very
bleak healthcare future. Many of them have limited resources to fall
back on in their retirement years -- and although there have been major
improvements in medicine, many will not be able to take advantage of
this because they cannot afford it.
So, is neutri-genomics the silver lining behind this dark cloud? Can
neutri-genomics provide that much needed stability for the aging
boomers healthcare plight?
While good nutrition might not provide all the answers to the health
challenges that we face daily, it is a vital component of our health
and wellbeing.
I recently wrote an article about retirement that referred to the
plight of the baby-boomers who are now facing retirement -- and with
all their health challenges may be facing their biggest challenge yet
-- their healthcare.
Baby-boomers play a very vital role in the whole scheme of things --
and no where in history have they played a more vital role than what is
about to transpire in the wellness industry.

Paul Zane Pilzer in his book, The Next Trillion, paints a vivid picture
of how genetics is going to play a major role in the future of
nutrition.
"Our demand for wellness based products and services is primarily
driven by one function of the genetic code which causes aging -- from
wrinkles that appear on our skin to the ultimate breakdown of our
bodily organs. over the long term, the understanding and eventual
manipulation of this genetic code holds the greatest promise for the
wellness industry."
Nothing can stop a trend or a movement whose time has come! The
headlines are everywhere.
