Building a business into a consistent money-making enterprise is the ultimate goal of most business owners; however, this can be a daunting task for the new person, or even for someone who have been in business for a while.

This could be done with a "thank you" email offering a freebie. Your freebie could be an e-book, video clip or just good information relevant to the product that was purchased. This should be accompanied with advertisement for other products that you sell.
Your follow-up could be every few days once per week, or even twice per month.

Additional Offers At Your Order Page
You can have a few related products displayed on your order page.
After someone decides to make a purchase they are now in a buying mode, and offering them other related products at that moment in time could lead to additional sales.
Many business owners pay so much attention to promoting and selling the main product, but overlooking this little technique that can create more income quickly and without much additional effort.

Ask For Referrals
Don't be afraid to ask your customers for referrals.
When someone decides to make a purchase from your site they have started to develop some trust in you and will feel comfortable recommending others to your site.
You can offer a rebate to your customers if they refer other people to your site. This can be a full or partial rebate depending on the number of referrals you are requesting.
So instead of one sale this technique could lead to multiple sales.

Option To Join The Affiliate Program
Offer the customer the option to join the affiliate program related to the product they just purchased from you.
This is a win-win situation that allows them to make commissions for themselves from selling the product, and also a way of leveraging your income through their sales.

Sell Reprint/Reproduction Rights To Your Products
If you create your own products you can sell the reprint/reproduction rights to those products as an additional incentive for people to purchase from you. This will not only lead to more sales but will bring additional traffic to your site.
Building good relationships with your customers leads to the long term stability of your business, and making them offers that provides value is the most effective method to achieve this.

Cross-Promote Your Products with Other Products
Cross-promoting or combining your products with products from other businesses in package deals can lead to multiple sales.
To take this further you can include an ad or a flyer for other products that you sell and have other businesses selling for you.
Remember, other businesses are looking out for additional ways of creating more income so by you combining their products they will in turn do the same with your products.

Provide Coupons For Products
People are always looking for ways to save on their purchases, so offering coupons for the main product or the related products will lead to additional purchases.
In the delivery of the product that was purchased initially, you can include coupons for the other products that you sell that are related to the main product.

Catalog For Add-Ons To Main Product
A very effective method of creating additional sales is to provide a catalog to your customer listing add-ons and accessories that can enhance the main product. These add-ons could be attachments, upgrades or special services.
Emphasis should always be placed on selling good quality products. If your customer is satisfied with their initial purchase then more than likely they will purchase add-ons.
