Every day we see ordinary people strive to become successful in their affiliate marketing business, and only a very small percentage of these people really make it. Now, why is it that some succeed while others don't? What common factors are involved here?

Venturing into a new business, whether it's online or off-line require a certain mindset to make that business successful. If you are not prepared mentally for the sacrifices and commitments that you have to make, DON'T even bother to get started.

Before starting on your journey with your affiliate marketing business, you MUST be dead sure in your mind that this is something that you want to do. To accomplish this you must possess some very important qualities, three of which are as follows:

=> A strong WHY...

=> Belief in your ability to succeed...

=> Be willing to take the action necessary to reach your objective.

A STRONG WHY!

Some emphasis is required here, it's not just about having a 'WHY', it's about having a strong "WHY". The reason why we do something is one of the strongest emotion that we can experience in our search for success.

Choosing to achieve certain objectives sometimes require for you to take drastic measures. If your WHY is not strong enough, you will not have that driving force mentally to keep you going no matter what. You will not have that little voice pushing you to do that extra hour to get some more work done.

What are the circumstances that you absolutely MUST get out of? Is it a job that you hate? A boss that drives you up the wall? That 2 hour commute that you have to do daily? Cannot meet your monthly financial obligations? That really low feeling deep down when your child ask for that video game, or bicycle and you can't afford it?...

What do you absolutely MUST have to enhance you and your family's lifestyle? Is it that beautiful home by the beach where you can sit on your porch and watch the sunset? Is it that long awaited vacation to some romantic island in the caribbean? The added reassurance you feel when you know that the money for your kids college fund is secured?...

That sense of joy you feel when you can afford to make a major contribution to your favorite charity, without even thinking about it? Just that feeling of confidence to know that you have accomplished your objectives?

You must identify a strong WHY for building your business. With your WHY providing the driving force to do whatever it takes, you will be able to lay out the plans necessary to achieve your objectives.

BELIEF IN YOUR ABILITY TO SUCCEED!

Success with your affiliate marketing business starts with a dream. From this dream a picture begins to emerge which will enable you to visualize the lifestyle you intend to create, even before you start your business. Having a vivid picture of what you want to accomplish through your business will provide the blueprint to go forward.

Now, you must believe that you can do this. Your technical skill or knowledge do not matter here. If you've settled in your mind that this is what you want to do, and you're willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done, the required skills will come.

If you honestly believe in your ability to become successful in affiliate marketing, you WILL become successful, if you possess the other requirement.

ACTION - THE FORCE THAT BRINGS IT ALL-TOGETHER!

No amount of "WHY'S" or "BELIEF'S" will get you to your destination. All the placing of pictures on the fridge, sticking up positive affirmations around the house, test driving that sports car, viewing million dollar homes WILL NOT amount to anything, without action.

Massive action is required to achieve massive success. Your reason for building your business and the belief that you can do it, will provide the leverage to do the research and acquire the skills you need; however, without taking action everything else will be futile.

When starting out you might have to get up earlier in the mornings, or stay up late at nights to put in the extra hours. You might have to give up your leisure activities on the weekends, but these are all sacrifices that might have to be made to achieve the ultimate objective.

CONCLUSION!

Success in your affiliate marketing business will be decided by various factors; however, recognizing the importance of the above qualities will go a long way in preparing you for the journey that lies ahead in your quest for business success.

Before you can have a successful home based business, you must first possess 3 "intangibles." These are things that must come from WITHIN you.

===> Intangible 1 <===

First,you must have a strong WHY.

Why MUST you have a successful home business? What is driving you? What is it that you CAN'T have in your life anymore and/or what is it that you absolutely MUST HAVE now?

For me, I couldn't stand working 12+ hours a day anymore and missing the experience of my children growing up. I also absolutely HAD TO HAVE the freedom of being able to control my life and finances through a little box (laptop computer) that I could carry with me anywhere in the world and not be tied to anyone's time pressures or demands but my own. That was my carrot and my stick. I felt a great pain deep in my gut of missing out on my children's lives and the incredible freedom that succeeding in a home based business would provide for me. I found my why. You MUST find yours.

===> Intangible 2 <===

You must BELIEVE that it is possible.

If you don't believe that it's POSSIBLE for you to have a successful home based business or make your living from home, you won't. It's that simple.

For me, figuring out that it was possible was just a matter of realizing that many other people were ALREADY making great money working from home. If they could do it, I could too. It would just be a matter of figuring out what those people were doing and then adapting it to my situation.

There is no shortage of undeniable PROOF that people (millions of them) are making money working from home. Just get online and do some research and you'll find countless testimonials and stories of REAL PEOPLE making real money on the Internet. Or head to your local bookstore and you'll find the same documented evidence of this fact. Truth is, it's getting easier and easier to make money with your own home based business.

I've always said that "affiliate marketing" (a simple way to make money from home) is the job of the future. In the old days, you had to go to a potential employer, apply for the position and hope for the best. Now you can simply go to any company you want, fill out their affiliate application and start work immediately. Affiliates are the new working class. In fact, making money with affiliate programs or making your living on the Internet is WAY MORE than possible. It is pretty much (or will be soon enough) unavoidable now. Affiliate marketing is the "job" of the future that's already here TODAY.

You must be willing to MAKE THE LEAP.

Ready, FIRE, then aim... This is the operating philosophy you MUST adopt to succeed with a home based business.

That's backwards for most people who like to aim before they fire. The fact is that home based business success is a moving target... The only thing constant about it is change. You need to stop analyzing the game and simply jump into it. You can't learn from the outside... You have to be *IN THE RING* to truly understand and profit from it. In fact, this is a business where you can truly be earning WHILE you're still learning...

The lesson here is that you will never really be READY to start a home based business. You simply have to start one. It's like having children... You're never really ready, but when it happens you adapt and grow and therefore you succeed. This is what I call: "Making the Leap"!

The good news is that the cost of failure with having your own home based business is very small. In the "brick and mortar" world you need to evaluate things very carefully before you decide to open up a business. It's almost always necessary to invest thousands of dollars to get an offline business off the ground. However, on the Internet you can often start a successful business for less than $100.
