There is a major stampede on the internet daily by people trying to find a work at home business opportunity, to make money with affiliate marketing. Unfortunately 95% of these people never make any money with their work at home business. There are various factors that lead to this; however, from my experience, "staying focus" is one of the major problems that most people have.
The internet is full of distractions, and unless you're from a business background where all activities are done to reach one objective at a time, it might be difficult to understand this. The tendency is always there, especially with new online marketers to move from one affiliate program to the next, or joining too many of them and trying to do too many things at the same time.
Now, a lot of people have been asking what makes some affiliates earn millions online annually, while others barely make enough to keep their online business going?... some not even earning one dime for all their efforts.
If you have had success at anything in the past, you know that to accomplish whatever that might have been, took your complete focus. Your work at home business through affiliate marketing is no different. You MUST stay focus on your objective, by taking daily actions in order to reach your goals in a specific time frame.
Now what I'm talking about here, is staying focus by doing one thing at a time... keeping your mind on one goal or objective at a time. There might be different parts that you'll have to do to accomplish this, but you MUST stay focus.
Breaking this down simply means:
=> One affiliate business at a time...
=> One affiliate program - which is promoted via...
=> One website - and that website should have only...
=> One objective - To serve visitors with a landing/opt-in page where you collect names and email addresses into your follow-up list. This will be the foundation for long term security from affiliate marketing with your work at home business.
Now, this does not mean that you can't have more than one affiliate business. After you're making regular sales from this one, you can have any amount that you want. This is just to stay focus on "one business at a time". Staying focus on one a time will allow you to be *more effective* in your marketing, so you can get the best results from your efforts.
Now you might be wondering when you should start another business...
As they say in this business - you never abandon your existing business. You continue to provide good content to your list through your auto-responder... and present offers that will provide good value to them. Remember, your list is the most valued asset of your business.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Before moving on to another business you should automate your first business. This is setting it up so that it accomplishes most of your objectives hands-free. This will allow you the freedom to focus more on your new business, while the other basically runs automatically.
*You MUST make sure that everything in that first business is running smoothly like clockwork. That will include your website, landing/opt-in page and follow-up email series. These should all be in place, tested, maximized for conversion and bringing in sales on a regular basis.
CONCLUSION
Getting started with affiliate marketing to build your work at home business can be very challenging, and might even become overwhelming at times; however, if you stay focus you will accomplish much more in your climb for success.
If there is one thing you need to pay attention to today, is this, "without focus nothing else in your business really matters".
