You've heard the sayings about working at home. You should be able to be happy working at home because you can work any time you want, but you know just as well as anyone that just because you are working at home and you can work any time of the day or night, doesn't mean that you should be working all of the time.
Finding the right hours to work for you is something that you are going to struggle with, because everyone does. When you begin your home business, the first thing that you need to remember is that you are going to have to work hard to develop a schedule, and that you should have it set right from the start. This is something that you need to be aware of, and that you need to make your clients aware of, as soon as you possibly can.
The first step to setting up a schedule that work for you is to take a look at the hours that you have worked in the other jobs that you have had. Which hours work for you, and which do not? Are there particular hours that work better than others, and if so, what are those hours?
Next, you should look at the hours that you absolutely do not want to work. If you get nothing done in the early mornings, or after a certain time at night, by all means make sure that you have taken this into account as you plan your work day.
The third factor that is going to play into setting up your own schedule for your home business will be what commitments you have with your family. Do you have children that you have to pick up from school? Do you have a young child who will need your attention at certain times, or would you like a two hour lunch each day so that you can spend time with your spouse on their own lunch break?
These are all factors that you have to keep in mind, if you are going to be able to come up with a decent work schedule that will do wonders for your own work ethic as well as for your home business.
Make a commitment to stick with your work schedule as much as you possibly can. Let your customers and friends be aware of your work hours so they will know when to reach you.
