Most network marketers make the mistake of trying too hard to get prospects into their business. This end up costing them heavily, as it's a turn off for most prospects.
What you're actually doing here is projecting an image of desperation. It's like you have to get them in your business. You're inadvertently telling your prospects that they will have to do the same thing that you are doing, to get prospects to join their business.
Now if that isn't a turn off, I don't know what is! That prospect will just look for the nearest exit and vanish.
Nobody will want to join your network marketing business, if they feel that they have to go out and drag people into their business as well. People are looking for a simple duplicatable method that can work for anyone.
Professional network marketers use a very effective network marketing skill that changes the dynamics of the conversation from a "needy" position, to a "couldn't care less" position.
Instead of begging the prospect to join, they take away the offer.
For example: John have seen your offer, you have provided him with additional information, yet when you call to followup with John he says, "I'm not sure I'm ready for this, I will have to take another look at it".
An effective network marketing skill that you want to use here is to agree with John and then take it away.
This could go something like this: "You know John, you may be right. You seem to be comfortable with what you're doing now and this might not be a good time for you to change your financial situation."
Now, this is going to catch John off guard as this was not something he was expecting. Right away you have taken the focus from you and place it squarely on John.
This places you in charge of the conversation and sends a clear message to John that it doesn't really matter whether he joins your business or not... even if it does.
By you agreeing with him and not trying to convince him to join your business, he will start to think, hey this guy don't care whether I join his business or not... maybe I should take another look.
If this is a serious prospect then chances are he will show some more interest after that little experience.
The top leaders in the network marketing industry develop their posture to a high level. They practice effective network marketing skills. They project a sense of urgency when they are talking with a prospect.
CONCLUSION
Be BRAVE... be BOLD... take charge of the conversations that you have with your prospects. Remember, you have a vacancy on your team, but you're looking for the right person... and guess what... you will know the moment you start talking to that person.
DON'T try to sponsor everyone... look for the right ones and your network marketing business will take on a life of it's own!
