Targeting smaller niches is probably one of the easiest ways to increase your hosting sales and commissions as an affiliate marketer. Why is this you might ask?
The hosting services area of the internet is huge, and if you're just targeting the general market, you will have to be very good at your marketing and advertising to make good money from the sales. You would have to also spend a lot more marketing dollars.
Targeting a smaller group of people with a specific problem will give you the opportunity to dominate that niche. We hear people talk about it all the time, we've seen it in ads and on websites in words like, "how to dominate your niche".
It's not that difficult, if you know how. Just provide more value than your competition!
Your number one priority as an affiliate is to provide relevant and valuable information to your audience. This is how you develop trust and credibility on the internet. What you will find is that many of your competitors in these small niches are more inclined to make a fast buck, rather than providing information of real value.
Another important point you need to understand is that you CANNOT meet the needs of everyone. You will have to fine tune your approach to serve a more targeted group of people who have specific needs. While you would like to serve everyone this is not practical, and if you try to do this you might end up not serving anyone effectively.
To become a super affiliate or top income earner you will have to become an expert in your field... and while you might have a general understanding of many things in your market, it is close to impossible to be an expert on everything... thus the need for specialization.
It is already established that everyone doing business on the internet needs hosting services. But you have to remember also that there is a lot of competition. Now, a little competition is good for business, but why compete when you have the opportunity to dominate?
When you choose a specific smaller niche market, you can become an expert in it. What you need to do here is just concentrate on providing a solution to the specific needs of your niche. You can accomplish this by giving specialized information and specific hosting recommendations. You can also provide an analysis of the different hosting packages stating advantages and disadvantages etc.
What you have to remember here is that the internet provide a wealth of information on everything, but people are lazy. While some people would like to spend the time to find specific information, most are looking for the easy way out and that's where you come in. You can easily dominate a small niche market by solving the people's needs... and you'll be paid handsomely for it.
So instead of trying to solve everyone's problems, look for small niches within your market. Start giving some information of value to your audience and look out for those increased hosting commissions.
