Based on research affiliate marketing is most definitely one of the easiest methods for you to make money on the internet. Its simplicity in getting started gives easy access to anyone with a computer, internet connection and the ability to follow simple instructions. Now, while affiliate marketing is one of the easiest business model to make money from on the internet, there are some basic principles that has to be followed in order for you to make good money from it. If you're starting this as a business then you have to treat it like a business

Here are 5 critical points that can give you a fighting chance as an affiliate:

1. Get Organized - Successful affiliate marketers are very busy people, and for them to keep track of all the things that they are doing they have to be organized. Set aside a specific area of your home for work. This can be a room or part of a room where you do business. Have your work tools on hand like your computer, phone, pens, pencils, pads for notes etc.

Set specific times when you will be working. Many people who work at home never really get much done mainly because of distractions. You have to let your family and friends know that when you're working you should not be disturbed. Don't allow this part to get out of hand or else you won't get anything done.

2. Get Your Own Website - To earn a good living on the internet you will have to build a subscriber list. This is the only way to develop a consistent cash flow for your business. As an ordinary affiliate you don't need a website. When you join an affiliate program you are given a unique referral link which you advertise as your website, but this is not yours. This is the merchant's website, and don't forget that.

Now, your first site don't have to be anything too fancy. This can be a one page website known as a leads capture page. You will be creating this with one goal in mind and that is to build your optin list. Building your list is critical to your business long term survival.

3. Offer Valuable Incentives - To build your optin list you will need to offer your visitors something of value. This could be a free report, an ebook, free subscription to your newsletter etc. Ultimately you should be creating your own offers, but if you're just starting out you can get re-brandable reports, ebooks, or good quality plr content to offer.

It is important to start setting up your newsletter early on. Access plr content and edit them or add some together to provide good content for your subscribers. An easy way to start impacting your subscribers is to set up a blog and post regular. Whenever you make a new post send an email to them with the link for that post.

4. Develop Your Writing Skills - Content is king on the internet and for you to really make a significant income you will need to sharpen up your writing skills, or be prepared to spend some cash. Marketing is critical to your business and some of the most effective marketing is the written word. You will have to start writing articles, ads for advertising, solo ads, blog postings all of which require some writing skills.

5. Don't Ever Quit - Your affiliate marketing business will need time to grow. Contrary to what you may have seen on the internet at times, you will not start making big money quickly. This will come from consistent and persistent effort.

Affiliate marketing offers an opportunity to anyone who has a dream of creating a successful business on the internet. Your education, experience or skill level is not important as long as you're willing to recognize your capabilities, and make a commitment to improve your weaknesses.

Remember this, "Nothing worthwhile comes easy". You will have to make some sacrifices, but if you stick with it long enough in the end you will get there.

Before you can have a successful home based business, you must first possess 3 "intangibles." These are things that must come from WITHIN you.

===> Intangible 1 <===

First,you must have a strong WHY.

Why MUST you have a successful home business? What is driving you? What is it that you CAN'T have in your life anymore and/or what is it that you absolutely MUST HAVE now?

For me, I couldn't stand working 12+ hours a day anymore and missing the experience of my children growing up. I also absolutely HAD TO HAVE the freedom of being able to control my life and finances through a little box (laptop computer) that I could carry with me anywhere in the world and not be tied to anyone's time pressures or demands but my own. That was my carrot and my stick. I felt a great pain deep in my gut of missing out on my children's lives and the incredible freedom that succeeding in a home based business would provide for me. I found my why. You MUST find yours.

You must BELIEVE that it is possible.

If you don't believe that it's POSSIBLE for you to have a successful home based business or make your living from home, you won't. It's that simple.

For me, figuring out that it was possible was just a matter of realizing that many other people were ALREADY making great money working from home. If they could do it, I could too. It would just be a matter of figuring out what those people were doing and then adapting it to my situation.

There is no shortage of undeniable PROOF that people (millions of them) are making money working from home. Just get online and do some research and you'll find countless testimonials and stories of REAL PEOPLE making real money on the Internet. Or head to your local bookstore and you'll find the same documented evidence of this fact. Truth is, it's getting easier and easier to make money with your own home based business.

Affiliate marketing is the "job" of the future that's already here TODAY.

You must be willing to MAKE THE LEAP.
